Etude Op. 10, No. Chiasmus

by Andy Nguy

Mixing nostalgia in memory,
Memory with nostalgia imbued:
The perfume haunts and clings upon you.

And I am holding you in my arms,
And O! how my arms ache to hold onto you,
But I am not holding you.
I am not holding you in my arms.

And I lean in to kiss you,
And while I hold you in my arms, my arms holding you,
I am not holding you in my arms,
And I do not kiss.
Yet I lean in to kiss you!

Andy Nguy studies English, Philosophy and Biology. He often worries about the metaphysical relationship between milk and cereal.
