We jumped into the water without a thought of dangers before.
We splashed and played until the darkness came and no longer saw the shore.
I dove down deep so as to reach for a solid stable floor,
But you kept swimming, and as you did you found me reaching more.
Once I find that stable ground I’ll push up for a soothing breath.
Yet the more I reach the more I find that I want and need the depths.
Her name is Maggie Aulet-Leon. Sophomore year of high school she threw up in Spanish class.
